KP to have widespread rains during Eid days

PESHAWAR, Jul 15:  The Met Office here Wednesday forecast widespread rain-thundershowers in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Malakand, Mardan, Hazara, Kohat and Peshawar divisions during Eid days from Friday to Tuesday. According to Met Office, scattered rain-thundershowers are expected in DI Khan, Bannu division and Fata during Saturday to Tuesday. Scattered heavy to very heavy falls are also expected in Kashmir, Peshawar, Kohat and Hazara divisions during Friday to Sunday. Monsoon heavy falls may generate flash flooding in the local streams, ravines and nullahs of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab during Saturday to Tuesday, according to Met Office. Due to frequent rains in Kashmir, the risk of landslides, particularly along the major roads will be high during the period.All the concerned authorities are advised to take precautionary measures accordingly. The PDMA KP has directed the administration to remain high alert to avoid any loss to human lives and properties during these days.
