M. Phil Seminar held


KHAIRPUR, Jul 15: An M. Phil seminar on “Assessing the Importance of Motivation on the Performance of Employees: A Case Study of Teaching Faculty of Government Colleges of Sukkur Region” was held in the Department of Commerce, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur delivered by Mr. Amir Bux Pirzada, Research Scholar under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Memon, Chairman, Department of Commerce and co supervision of Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Maitlo, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences.
Mr. Amir Bux Pirzada revealed that my research study will help in understanding the motivation in the government teachers point of view and will guide top level management of Education and Literacy Department Govt. of Sindh in making strategy for improving the performance of teachers in term of motivation. He said, motivated employees are quality oriented and more productive. He said, 278 teaching staff was selected out of 1286. He said, the performance of teachers was good despite the fact that, their motivation inadequate. The scholar suggested the salary of the college teachers may be enhanced, transparent promotion policy be adopted for good performance and system of reward and punishment should be adopted.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Memon said, the research work will help for the college teachers regarding the motivation for better performance. He said, the motivated teachers will perform in better way and it would be beneficial for the students.
Prof. Dr. Nisar Ahmed Kanhar, Director, Post Graduate Studies appreciated the research work presented by the scholar and said, the Education and Literacy Department will benefited regarding the concept of employees motivation and it will improve the teaching quality in the colleges.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Maitlo said that the better performance of teachers is an important to produce good graduates, there is need to motivate the teachers so they can render their services in the academic uplifting. Dr. Maitlo lauded the efforts of Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah in the streamlining the research culture at the campus and the establishment of separate Directorate for Post Graduate Studies for embark upon research.
The seminar was declared as successful.
