Ranger raid Nine-Zero again, make several arrests

KARACHI, Jul 17: Rangers conducted another raid at Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine-Zero in the early hours Friday and arrested several leaders including Qamar Mansoor, Sufian Yousuf, Azeem Farooqui and in-charge Rabita Committee Kaiful Wara.
A heavy contingent of Rangers raided the Nine-Zero at Sehri time and took several leaders into custody and shifted them to unspecified location. Later, Azeem Farooqui and Sufian Yousuf were released after interrogation.
The Rangers sealed all the entry and exit points of Nine-Zero during the raid and no one was allowed to enter the locality.
The Rangers also raided homes of MQM leader Farooq Sattar and Haider Abbas Rizvi but found them not present. Raids were also conducted in different areas including Model Colony, Orangi Town and Malir and 10 workers of MQM were taken into custody. .
Meanwhile, MQM Spokesman Wasay Jalil has said that the raid was conducted without any search warrant which proved that Karachi operation was being carried out only against MQM.
DG Rangers Sindh Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar said that those arrested from the Nine-Zero had been arranging and facilitating ‘hate speeches’ against Karachi peace.
Rangers’ spokesman said Qamar Mansoor and Kaiful Wara have been arrested during raid in Aziz Abad. Rangers are all set to restore peace in Karachi and Sindh but Rangers personnel have been targeted in hate speeches. List of those who were facilitating hate speeches has been worked out and more arrests could be made in this respect, he added.
