Explosive material and illicit weapon case
KARACHI, Jul 24: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday handed over three accused, allegedly belonging to a political party, to police custody on a 14-day physical remand.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested the suspects, Abu Hurera, Abdullah, and Muhammad Ibrahim after an encounter in Karachi’s Korangi area. CTD had seized explosives material and illicit weapons from their possession.
Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court to allow physical remand of the accused as they were required for investigation to trace out their connections and whereabouts of their absconding accomplices. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to them on physical remand.
The suspects allegedly belong to a political party and were involved in killing as many as 18 people. However, they were remanded in a cases pertaining to an explosives material, illicit weapons, attempted murder, and police encounter.
