ISLAMABAD, Jul 27: Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Monday assured the business community of resolving their genuine issues to their satisfaction.
Addressing media here at Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), after a day long meeting between FBR team and the business community representatives on the issue of withholding tax for non-filers, Ishaq Dar said the government wanted to take country’s economy to new heights and to achieve this objective it has taken various measures specially in the revenue sector.
“We want to facilitate business community and at the same time we also want to enhance our tax net for the socio economic prosperity of the country”, the finance minister remarked.
He said he himself would chair the meeting to be held on Tuesday (July 28) between the FBR and the business community representatives in a bid to resolve their genuine reservations.
He said representatives of chambers of commerce and industries from across the country would also participate in the meeting.
Ishaq Dar said Pakistan was once again facing problem of floods and the government was trying its level best to provide maximum relief and help to flood affected people which requires a huge amount.
He said during the current fiscal year the government would have to spend Rs 100 billion for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Internally Displaced People of FATA.
Business community leaders on the occasion said the community wanted to pay their due taxes and at the same time they urged the FBR to facilitate them in this regard.
