Residents of ‘dangerous’ buildings warned

KARACHI, Jul 27: Announcements have been made on Monday through loudspeakers at the buildings that have been declared to be dangerous for human living, warning the residents to vacate them immediately as chances of collapsing of deteriorating buildings increase in rains.

SBCA spokesperson said on the directives of SBCA acting director general, banners had been displayed on such buildings as notice.

This should be noted that 288 buildings have been declared to be dangerous in the city due to their musty foundation structure according to a survey conducted by SBCA Technical Committee for Dangerous Buildings. While, emergency had been imposed in the department in the last month, therefore, technical staffs of all town sections are working in three shifts on emergency duty. The citizens could inform at 021-99232354 in case of any accident.

SBCA has requested people not to go near poor-conditioned buildings during rains to protect precious human lives and properties.
