KARACHI, Jul 30: With a special focus on Karachi, a counterterrorism drive launched in the province of Sindh under Pakistan’s National Action Plan, is all set to go into top gear down the line.
It was decided in a high-level meeting held between Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar here on Thursday.
Sources in the CM House, quoting the minutes of the meeting, told that both the military and provincial government executives were unanimous on busting the hideouts of militants in the next phase of the anti-terror campaign.
Among the new measures agreed to be taken in the days to come was also the formation of special teams, which would be specifically tasked with bring the terrorists as well as their facilitators to the book, sources added.
Furthermore, the CM and the corps commander also compared notes on the flood relief operation led by Pakistan Army.
The meeting ended on notes of assurance from both the sides.
