KARACHI, Jul 31: Lawyers for Human Rights and Legal Aid president Zia Ahmad Awan on Friday said our system has failed to give justice to people especially to women.
Addressing a press conference along with a domestic violence and trafficking survivor woman, Aimi, at his office, he said there many gangs in interior Sindh who are involved to human trafficking. He said in this regard Aimi is in front of us. He said that she is a resident of Thatta and was kidnapped eight years by unknown men, who used her as prostitute.
When she tried to escape they gave her burn injuries. However, finally she succeeded to escape, returned home and tried to register case against criminals but police did not cooperate.
Awan said we are trying to get justice for Aimi. We contacted ministers and IGP Sindh but there were no response. He said now we have decided to file a petition in Sindh High Court.
Aimi said accused Muharam and Fahim were involved in human trafficking. She appealed to take action against these accused.
