ISLAMABAD, Aug 2 : Majority of the main business centres and markets remained open in the country on Saturday as majority of traders ignored the strike call against the imposition of withholding tax on banking transaction of over Rs 50,000 for non-filers of income tax returns.
Chairman All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Atiq Mir pointed out that majority of the traders in the metropolis rejected the strike call given by the trade leaders.
Majority of businessmen and traders community rejected the strike-call in Lahore also as most of the markets remained open there.
According to reports, in Lahore, some of the markets partially remained closed but the traders opened their shops and normal business activity was observed in most parts of the city.
In Islamabad and Rawalpindi most of the main business centers and markets also remained open despite the call of shutter down strike by traders associations.
In Faisalabad the business remained normal despite the strike call given by Anjuman-e-Tajiran. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the business activities continued at the major trading centres and shopping markets.
