ISLAMABAD, Aug 4:  Vice-Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday announced that the party parliamentarians would not attend proceedings of the National Assembly until the final decision on the motions seeking to de-seat them.
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, Shah Mehmood said a final decision on the de-seating motions moved by the JUI-F and MQM should be made at the earliest.
“All parties except the JUI-F and MQM want PTI to remain in Parliament. We understand the reservations of these (JUI-F, MQM) parties,” Shah Mehmood added.
He said reservations of the JUI-F and MQM were political and not constitutional and claimed the de-seating motions would be opposed by main parties in the Parliament.
Shah Mehmood emphasized that stance of the PTI was that they were elected-members and played their role in the Parliament since the general election.
To a question, Shah Mehmood said the PTI had accepted the decision of the General Election-2013 Inquiry Commission with open heart and returned to the Parliament.
He said the PTI members came to the Parliament under a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz while constituting the commission.
