Three martyred, 22 injured in Indian shelling: ISPR

SIALKOT, Aug 4:  Three persons were martyred while 22 others injured Tuesday in heavy shelling by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) on Sialkot border villages in Bajwat Sector of Sialkot Working Boundary.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the BSF targeted civilian population in its unprovoked intensified mortar shelling on the border villages in Bajwat Sector.
In Sukhiyaal-Bajwat village, the family of local farmer Muhammad Akram was sitting in the courtyard of their house after saying morning prayers, when they were hit by some mortar shells fired by Indian BSF. His son Muhammad Asif was killed on the spot while he himself (45)) and his two other children Fatima Akram (8) and Qaisar Akram (11) and his brother Muhammad Aslam were injured.
In village Kachhi Maand-Bajwat, a youth, Muhammad Adnan (22) son of Muhammad Din, was martyred due to unprovoked Indian shelling at his house.
In village Kheri-Bajwat, a local farmer Muhammad Sadiq (45) and his wife Shehnaz Bibi were injured seriously as mortar shells fired by Indian BSF badly hit their house.
Identities of some of the injured are yet to be ascertained.
All the injured were admitted to the Combine Military Hospital (CMH) Sialkot.
The martyred civilians were laid to rest in their native graveyards after noon.
The Punjab Rangers retaliated instantly and effectively in a befitting manner, making the Indian guns silent, the officials said.
India has violated the ceasefire at the Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC) on several occasions.
Member of the National Assembly Chaudhry Armughan Subhani visited the villages hit by the Indian shelling. He condoled with the grieved families of the martyred villagers. He strongly condemned the brutal killing of villagers by the unprovoked shelling of Indian BSF.
