HESCO raiding teams unearth 900 illegal kunda, cut 1350 supplies to payment defaulters in Latifabad, Tando Adam, Sujjawal, Tando Allah Yar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Matiari


HYDERABAD, Aug 5: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) in their bid to recover over Rs.56 billion outstanding from defaulters and continued war against electricity thieves; speeding mobilization through 54 special raiding teams which are operating jointly with the help of FIA throughout 14 districts of HESCO region, spokesman told.
Today operations conducted in Hyderabad, Latifabad, Hussainabad, Sehrish Nagar of Qasimabad, Tando Adam, Sujjawal, Tando Allah Yar, Mirpurkhas, Badin and Matiari and its suburbs and at least 1365 electric connections of payment defaulters were disconnected and as many as 900 illegal kunda were removed, three 200KV transformers were grounded and 65 tube well connections were also cut off.
HESCO Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Saleem Jaat has already given clear instructions to ensure 100 percent recovery of payment from defaulters or cut off electric supplies otherwise.
He also appealed to the general public, valued consumers to cooperate HESCO teams for recovery of outstanding payments and elimination of power theft from the root level. HESCO drive for recovery of over Rs56.22 billion will continue till 100 percent recovery from govt, private consumers, chief concluded.
