Visit of Vietnam delegation will augment bilateral trade: TDAP Secretary


KARACHI, Aug 11: A high powered 20 member trade delegation from Vietnam led by Deputy Director Foreign Trade, Vietnam along with Ambassador, Embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan visited Karachi recently.
Embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan in collaboration with TDAP organized a working group and B2B session in Karachi on 11th August 2015.During the session Ambassador, Embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan spoken on the potential of increased bilateral trade between the two nations. Secretary TDAP Rabiya Javeria Agha in her welcoming remarks stated that visit of trade delegation from Vietnam is a positive move towards enhanced connectivity and trade between Pakistan and Vietnam and this will go a long way in developing better trade links for a beneficial future of both countries.
The bilateral trade between Pakistan and Vietnam has been growing steadily over the past years. From US$ 149M in 2009 to US$ 427 Million in 2014.Our major exporting products to Vietnam are frozen fish, raw cotton, pacific salmon and denim fabric while we imports synthetic yarn, black tea, natural rubber, gas turbines, natural rubber and pepper.
The delegates from Vietnam represented sectors i.e. house hold appliances, electrical and mechanical appliances, agriculture machinery, baby products, tea, textile machinery, beverages, dry lead batteries.   During the session B2B meetings of Vietnam’s delegation were organized with their Pakistani counterparts in their respective fields. Good business deals have been materialized as a result of this visit.
