Army beat PCB in Gen Raheel graced T20

RAWALPINDI, Aug 14:  Pakistan Army XI Friday sent Pakistan Cricket Board XI packing in a friendly T20 cricket match played at GHQ Stadium Rawalpindi as part of the Independence Day (August 14) celebrations.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, who graced the event as guest of honour , opened the 20-over-version of the game by shooting an unassailable boundary off all-rounder Shahid Afridi, the skipper of  Army XI.

Captain of the national cricket team, Misbah-ul-Haq, led the PCB XI against Army XI.

Officials say the event was organized to extend solidarity to the martyrs of Independence.

The proceeds of the match will be donated to temporarily displaced persons (TDPs)
