PM Nawaz inaugurates K-2 power plant at Kanupp
KARACHI, Aug 20: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said government is taking decisive actions for sake of peace in the country and any hindrance in actions against the terrorists will not be tolerated.
He said this while addressing inauguration ceremony of the KANUPP-II and III power projects here Thursday.
Defence minister Khawaja Asif, state minister Abid Sher Ali, governor and chief minister Sindh and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
The prime minister attended the concrete-pouring ceremony of the KANUPP-II and III nuclear power plants, the largest in the country, which will generate 1,100MW electricity each.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the premier said the foundations for the K-2 and K-3 projects were laid in November 2013 and that he was pleased at the timely start of the project.
“Foundation stone of the largest project of Pakistan has been laid. This project is an example of the healthy friendship between Pakistan and China. Pakistan- China friendship will further flourish due to this project, he added.
Transparency is increasing in our national economy and good impression of the country is being created in international community, he remarked.
It is our top priority to bail out country from energy crisis. Load shedding has declined remarkably in the country as compared to past, he held. Our rural areas are facing energy crisis, he added.
Shaheed Shuja Khanzada mission will continue with full force, he said. The terrorists can not shake our resolve by committing cowardly acts, he observed.
Law and order situation has improved in the country, he said adding inflation ratio is declining.
