NAB recovers gold bars from former KP CM’s special assistant


PESHAWAR, Aug 24: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered a few kilogram gold bars on pointation of Syed Masoom Shah, former Special Assistant to Ex-Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). The Bureau has arrested Syed Masoom Shah on allegations of corruption and corrupt practices and accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income worth millions of rupees, NAB stated on Monday. There include a house and Hujra on 12 Kanal land in his village Battagram district, precious two plots in Hayatabad, two plots in Regi Model Town, two plots in DHA Karachi, a precious house at Tulip Road Bahria Town Rawalpindi, one kanal house in Zaryab Colony Peshawar, three kanal precious land in Tehkal Bala Peshawar and a Kanal land in Warsak Road, Peshawar. The accused Syed Masoom Shah also possessed huge bank balance in local and foreign bank accounts and owned precious vehicles. The accused and his family members frequently visited United Arab Emirates (UAE) and spent millions of rupees. The accused has been presented before Accountability Court, Peshawar which granted remand and he was handed over into NAB custody for inquiry. During the inquiry, the accused revealed that he has got illegal assets and on his pointation, NAB (KP) has recovered Gold Bars in kilograms from his hideout purchased through corruption and corrupt practices. NAB is actively pursuing inquiry and more facts are on the card.
