JAMSHORO, Apr 13: University of Sindh (UoS), Jamshoro and the Sindh Endowment Trust (SET) funded by the Government of Sindh today signed a very significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Accordingly the trust will provide a financial help of rupees 10 millions to the Institute of Sindhology with the purpose to preserve pre-partition rare newspapers, magazines, manuscripts, and maps catalogued at the research library established in the Institute of Sindhology, UoS, Jamshoro.
The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor UoS, Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Fatah Muhammad Burfat and Abdul Hameed Akhund. Further, it was also told for the general information of public that the Sindh Endowment Trust (SET) has been established by the Government of Sindh, having specified an initial amount of rupees 100 millions. And the chief purpose of this Trust is to make certain to the development and preservation of the history of Sindh, culture, art, literature and other creative and research work. The Sindh Endowment Trust is run by the Board of Governors which consists of reputed scholars and well-wishing individuals of Sindh.
