RAWALPINDI, Apr 19: Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa has signed black warrants of another 30 hardcore terrorists on Wednesday who were tried and awarded death sentences by military courts.
Media cell of the military, Inter-Services Public Relations reported that the terrorists were involved in attacks on Army Public School, Saidu Sharif Airport near Swat River, attacks on civilians and kidnapping and slaughtering of personnel of Frontier Constabulary.
Military courts were established early 2015 after an attack on Army Public School in Peshawar claimed over 140 lives, mostly children.
Speedy trials of terrorists was laid out as the motive behind establishing the army courts.
“The process expedited during Op Radd-ul-Fasaad,” statement of the ISPR read today.
Director General of ISPR, Major General Asif Ghafoor reported earlier this week that at least 108 terrorists belonging to different banned organisations have been killed across the country in Radd-ul-Fasaad while 558 extremists have surrendered.
At least 161 terrorists have been sentenced to death by army courts, he had added.
