Long march for missing persons reaches leaves Thatta for Karachi

HYDERABAD: Long march of civil society and human rights activists against enforced disappearances of Sindhi social and political workers, which has started from Hyderabad 13 days ago left Thatta for Karachi last night and was welcomed by locals at Ghaghar Phattak.

Caravan was led by Punhal Saryo, Sorath Lohar,Khadim Arejo and family members of missing persons. The participants of caravan were walking on foot and had started from Hyderabad on 5th July. They were to reach Karachi on Sunday next. They were garlanded at Ghaghar crossing by Ahsan Ali Khaoso chairman Human Rights Organization and others. Addressing the gathering civil society leader Punhal Saryo said they want freedom of expression and political activities. He demanded to produce all 50 missing persons including 7 apolitical to courts of law if they are wanted in any case. He made appeal to human rights activists to assemble before Karachi press club to support their cause. On this occasion Tanweer Arejo, Amar Fayyaz, Wazir Arejo, Sindhu Chandio of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Bilawal Rajar, Ahsan Khoso termed forced disappearances as violation of human rights and demanded to made public them and produce them in courts of law.
