Islamabad: 70th Independence Day of Pakistan be celebrated today (Monday) across the country and in other parts of the world.
The sky over Islamabad and Karachi will be buzzing on Independence Day as the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) plans to hold air shows on August 14.
The 70th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan is being celebrated across the country with a renewed pledge to safeguard the motherland against any threat and make it a true Islamic welfare state as envisioned by founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The day will dawn with thirty-one gun salute in the federal and twenty-one gun salute in the provincial capitals.
Special prayers will be offered for the prosperity, integrity and solidarity of the country, unity of the Muslim Ummah and success of the long drawn struggle of Kashmiris after ‘Fajr’ prayers.
The main event of the day will be flag hoisting ceremony at Parliament House. President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chinese vice Premier Wang Yong will jointly unfurl the national flag at the ceremony.
The air show will be held at Fatima Jinnah Park, F-9 Park, Islamabad and Sea View Beach, Karachi. The event will also feature a Para-drop by tri-services personnel of the elite Special Services Group.
