Bol Bachchan’s business going strong at box office
MUMBAI: Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty’s jodi has worked its charm on the audiences yet again! From a roaring start in the weekend, the collections have managed to stay rock steady over the first week with a total of Rs 66.81 crore net all over India.
The film had a weekend collection figure with Rs 43.10 crore and maintained excellent collections on weekdays as well amassing Rs 23.71 crore. The film opened at Rs 12.10 crore net on Friday and Rs 14 crore net on Saturday. After which, the Net Box office for Bol Bachchan in India saw a phenomenal increase on Sunday with word of mouth contributing to the day’s total of a humongous Rs 17 crore. Proving that the success was just not the weekend factor, the collection was further augmented with Monday’s figures of 7.03 crore, Tuesday’s 6.3 crore, Wednesday’s 5.43 crore and Thursday’s 4.95 crore which have totalled the collection figures to a grand Rs 66.81 crore net approx.
Internationally too, Bol Bachchan is continuing to do extremely well when compared to other recent releases overseas and has grossed a fantastic number of US$ 2.7 million over the week. In fact Bol Bachchan has fared significantly better than all Devgn-Shetty combination films and recent releases including Rowdy Rathore.
The film’s rock solid run at the box office is definitely bringing the coveted 100 crore net box office mark closer each day.
Trade pundits say that Ajay and Shetty have had two 100 crore films in the past but the film’s 100 crore mark will definitely work as a morale booster for Abhishek Bachchan who will get his first 100 crore film and probably a superhit after a long time!
