AG withdraws allegation against judges after snubbed by CJ
ISLAMABAD: The Attorney General withdrew allegations which he levelled against the bench by terming four judges prejudice during the hearing of law regarding contempt of court.
During proceedings, the Attorney General said in his arguments that parliament had the authority to regulate the proceedings on law of contempt and every institute had to function under the law made by the parliament.
Justice Jawad S Khawaja asked the Attorney General that he had given any application on partiality of judges under prescribed procedure. On which Attorney General replied that his allegations against the bench is part of his argument and he does not want to bring it in black and white
The Chief Justice said that AG became habitual to malign judges. He said that AG should remember that the he is not representing anyone in the court; rather he appeared on the notice of the bench.
“Your job is assisting the court not defaming it. You are making fun of the high slot on which you are working”, the CJP snubbed the Attorney General while expressing his resentment.
On which Attorney General said that he never utter odd remarks about any judge in the past. “I did not appear in the court on court’s notice but I came here to fulfill the requirements of the justice”, AG replied.
