Five suspects arrested in connection with Kamra attack
ATTOCK: Major progress has been made in connection with the terrorist attack on Kamra’s Minhas Air Base as five suspected people were arrested from different areas of Punjab.
Meanwhile, a Pakistan Air Force probe committee led by Air Marshal Athar Bukhari is taking stock of various aspects of the attack. The committee recorded statements of several officers and soldiers present on the base at the time of the attack.
The law-enforcing agencies including police, in light of reports, launched a joint operation in different areas of Punjab and arrested five suspected people, who have been transported to an undisclosed location.
It is pertinent to note here that four of the terrorists who attacked the air base, have been identified. The preliminary investigations found that terrorists have links with militants from North Waziristan Agency.
It should be mentioned here that nine terrorists stormed into Kamra’s air base in the wee hours of Thursday. Springing into action soon, the commandoes of the Pakistan Army and the PAF launched a joint operation against the terrorists, who were all killed.
Two security men embraced martyrdom during the operation.
