KARACHI: Desptie a brilliant all-round performance by off-Spinner and left heanded bastman Shiraz Ali, Maymar CC suffered a 40-run defeat against Dubai Islamic Bank in the first match of the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Trophy Silver Jubilee Circket trounament at the AKG Ground here on yesterday.
Dubai Islamic, batting first , collected 202-5 in their allotted 20 overs with Asif Siddiqui (56 off 27 balls, eight fours and two sixes) and Faisal Mirza (46 off 37 balls, five fours and one six) putting on 87 fir the opening wicket. Waqas Haron hit up 45 in a 23-ball knock containing four sixes and two fours.
Shiraz captured 3-20 with his off-spinners before bludgeoning a superb 82 Maymar CC who made 162-6 in reply. His 48-ball knock was spiced with seven fours and three sixes.
