Mohammed, Rulers offer Eid Prayer
DUBAI: His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, offered Eid Al Fitr prayer this morning at Zabeel Mosque.
Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler H.H Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and a number of Sheikhs and senior officials performed the ritual along with Shaikh Mohammed.
In his Eid sermon, prayer leader (Imam) Shaikh Omer Al Khatib, shone light on charitable works like visiting patients, hosting iftar banquets during the holy month of Ramadan, building mosques, schools and Quran memorisation centres, as well as sponsoring orphans.
He said Eid Al Fitr is a precious opportunity for consolidating relations, intimacy and mercy amongst Muslims, citing a relevant verse from the Quran on obedience of Allah and His messenger ‘O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you.’
‘May Allah grant our leader President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, success in serving Islam and the homeland. May Allah have mercy on the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum and rest them in His paradise,’ he said.
Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of various emirates offered Eid Al Fitr prayers this morning.
In Sharjah, H.H Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, performed the prayer at Al Badea Mussalah. His Highness Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, Sheikhs and senior officials offered the prayer along with Shaikh Sultan.
A large number of citizens and residents also joined them in the prayer.
In Ajman, H.H Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, offered Eid Al Fitr prayer at the Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Mosque.
